Can't see any other threads on this, sorry if dupe. Basically, as far as I can see, any coalition other than the existing Con-Dem will result in a massive clusterfuck for our already fragile economy. Pretty sure UKIP wont get too much support / many seats but overall their presence is a GOOD THING for our electoral system - certainly helping to shake up the establishment. I agree with a few of their campaign points but certainly not all of them. Voting Conservative. Things have been good round our way for the last few years, certainly better than when the Labour lot were in. Therefore, they get my vote, best of a bad bunch imo. Wish they would give up on HS2 …

I like to know how we got from there, to here, and the similarities between then and now.”

http://www.japantoday.com/category/arts-culture/view/katana-in-tokyo-skytree-forged-from-meteorite This is probably about as close as we're gonna get to a real-world legendary sword. Might even put the Hattori Hanzo sword to shame.

hi everyone. i hope you are doing well. i am looking for a portable music player that has a storage capacity of over 250gb. who here has experience with cowon? I heard they are good but like most electronics companies their product line and website is a completely confusing and incomprehensible mess! Maybe a player that supports microSD cards and I can just get a nice hefty one or two? would be ideal to take about 250-300gb of flacs around with me, and hopefully not with a completely shit sound card. Any thoughts? what to the techie nerds around here use? I'm too busy browsing vineyard vines for the latest lilac chinos to find the right model and any help wo…

anyone interested in this? i didn't really care except now i keep hearing about this fight. i guess it's like the most important fight of this generation mayweather is getting $120,000,000 and pacquiao is getting $80,000,000 but they've also negotiated for points earned from pay per view and ticket sales (which sold out in 6 seconds at $1500-$10,000 a pop) plus 4(?) belts that are on the line. btw: they showed a promo about how these guys train: mayweather trains for about 15 hours a day with about 4 minutes inside this tank that basically freezes him so he can recover quickly. pacquiao goes the more traditional route (think rocky 4 style) running around with k…

I wondered if anybody has any guidelines to attain mass appeal. I have enjoyed being ridiculous and playing the fool and although it is it's own reward... I have read tales of "losing face" or "saving face," well what if you have no face at all as an artist? How do you go about building a supercool brand name out of yourself and get that teflon smooth public image? I had some ideas. I'm almost 40 but I was noticing that this hairstyle was something that young people like to rock these days: also, the publicity photos like this seem to get all the kids spending their allowance money on records: anyway, I am really sorry that those two pics aren't the exa…

I was invited to go see a private screening of a new horror movie called 'It Follows' this next week for a friends birthday. He works with the SIFF (Seattle International Film Festival) and loved this flick so he wants to have a party at the uptown theater to screen it for all his nerdy ass friends. Anyone who knows me will tell you I will subject myself and others to some of the worst sci-fi and horror movies in a cheap attempt to thrill myself and gain cheap laughs. Anyways, the movie looks good, surprisingly- but there's more. THE SOUNDTRACK - Listened to it last night and WOW, if you like old horror soundtracks, this one has it in an 80's way that is like …

i'm the type of person that if i like something, i love it. i'm a passionate person when it comes to the things i like. after looking into my Bipolar (type 2) diagnosis, i did some research and found that having obsessions with things is a symptom. it makes sense now, i always just felt like i loved things soo much and i wanted other people to share the same passion that i felt through the things i love, but nope, turns out i'm just bipolar. but i wanted to know if there are things you obsess over. for me, it's music, musicians, sound design, dnb production, collecting break samples, art, the virgin mary (even though i'm agnostic, i think it might just be because i'm…

So i was listening to this podcast and they were talking about this article http://mysteriousuniverse.org/2015/04/nasa-may-have-accidentally-developed-a-warp-drive/ --- If they can verify the results this is huge news for humanity, 50 to 100 years from now interstellar travel could be possible, and we were alive to see the birth.

From the Guardian: Progress M-27M vessel, which was carrying supplies to the International Space Station, is said to be out of control An unmanned Russian cargo spacecraft ferrying supplies to the International Space Station is plunging back to Earth and apparently out of control, according to AFP. The news agency has quoted an unnamed official familiar with the situation as saying: "It has started descending. It has nowhere else to go. It is clear that absolutely uncontrollable reactions have begun." There's a live blog of it's progress on the Guardian: http://www.theguardian.com/science/live/2015/apr/29/unmanned-russian-cargo-spacecraft-m-27m-fal…

I've intentionally not put this in the fav youtube vids as it is more important than just another youtube loltrack. This talk is based on his new book "The Moral Landscape" and it's already provoked such a change in thought in me over the past few days there must be a few others that would be interested. My first degree was in philosophy with the vast majority of my study divided between normative (theoretical) ethics and cognitive science (mostly philosophy of clinical psychology). Since then I've spent another 4 years at uni part-time studying neuroscience and clinical psychology and still working as a therapist for motor vehicle accident survivors. But I've…
