No no no

First Fight Club 2 (graphic novel...just a matter of time, tho) now T2?

Lemme guess...Ewan McGregor works in an office and for two hours he talks to HR about dress policy and then he meets a buddy at the water cooler and they're feeling a bit cheeky so on their lunch break they both grab a *double* espresso from Starbucks to buck the system

The last twenty minutes are of EM waiting to get a prostate exam...the epilogue states that his prostate was slightly inflamed due to poor diet, but nothing serious

*cue "Lust for Life" and roll credits*

Man I'll definitely be watching the new Trainspotting. It's not the mid nineties and I don't expect it to hit me like a freight train like the first one did, but I remain positive. Will be interesting to see what they came up with.

Rewatched Gonzo: The life & work of Hunter S. Thompson again last night, so uplifting to be in the presence of such an awesome fellow for the duration.

I like Trainspotting , but it doesn't really mean anything to me one way the other (only saw it a few years ago, I think). I'll probably end up seeing this one, even if it reeks of putrid nostalgia.

under the shadow

sick of "allegorical horror" or whatever subgenre this is part of. sick to death of it. this wasn't scary or even effective. i want monsters that don't have some metaphorical subtext. tired of boring attempts to "elevate" or "transcend" genre. the babadook was shit and so was this. horror movies are fucking dead.

layer cake - i thought this was sexy beast but i mixed up my early 2000s british crime thrillers. oh well. this was pretty bad.

lol I watched this recently too. Captures the point at which the UK complicated crime caper trend started by lock stock went full blown retard.

Anomalisa

Dang, haven't been left from a film with so many thoughts and questions in quite a while. Cuts deep...what IS love?! :cerious:

Does anyone have any good film analysis links on it? was reading up last night but only found a few fan theories

Gone Girl - Surprisingly good. I didn't hate Ben Affleck in it as much as I thought I would. The twist was a bit eh though.

Room - No, not The Room, the one based off the book. Is there a specific word for this sort of film? "Misery porn"? It's just bleak from start to finish. Reminds me a lot of 3096 Days (same premise but the latter based on real life events). I just feel like it's scene after scene of stuff meant to make your stomach churn with no real substance.

Boyhood - Fucking Christ this was boring. But OH MY GAAAWWWWD IT TOOK TWELVE YEARS TO MAKE?!

Charlie fucking Kaufman

Love that dude so much

Prolly in my top 5 artists of all time from any medium

I could give some psychoanalytic thoughts on it

But I have no idea what the hell everyone was tripping on in the hallway

Been waiting to watch it again but it's not on Netflix and my local video-rental place shut down so...

I loved Anomalisa in the most depressing possible. There were parts of it that annoyed me but I don't even remember what it was now?

Anyway, I think it was pretty straightforward interpretation-wise. It doesn't really require that big a psychological analysis... or am I missing something?

Okay, so, what was the source of all the dude's suffering, then?

psychoanalysis from a non-psychologist is not required under any circumstances. control the cancer. for your health.

Yale, Harvard, MIT, Stanford, UCLA, UofT, etc...

they all offer open courses

So anybody can study this stuff if they want to
