"Samuel Kerridge has completed work on his next album, Always Offended Never Ashamed. It'll be the experimental techno artist's second full-length, following on from last year's well-received A Fallen Empire on Downwards. Kerridge states that the forthcoming album is his "most personal recording to date." It's made up of eight tracks, and will be released digitally and on vinyl on February 13th, 2015. The new album will be the first release on Contort Records, a label Kerridge has founded with his wife, Hayley. The imprint takes its name from the Sunday afternoon event series they've been running in Berlin for the past few years, for which they enlist a variety of ar…

Probably 3 years late as dubstep seems to have completely imploded under the weight of its own subs, but the sounds herein are rather tasty indeed. It is more dub than step - lots of rather tasty echo-delay effects and vocal sample layering. You can definitely hear traditional dub influences which was what appeared to be missing from most of what was "dubstep". After a couple of listens Shadowrun and Stand Strong are my favourite tracks. I do appreciate Pinch as a kick ass producer, and he seems to always bring out his best tunes when in a collaboration (I still listen to the godly Shackleton collab album on a regular basis). A good album, but a weirdly time…

I found her stuff last year on Youtube when I was looking for videos of Gia Carangi (an 80s supermodel who sadly died of AIDS). I loved Gia's look - but that's a non-WATMM concern. Anway, Quiltland has put out her debut (I think) album. There is some good work on here - especially the 30 minute collection of 'Fides'. It's not all to my taste but I can see why AD signed her - she's certainly got that special something. Previews on Bleep - and a cassette edition too. https://bleep.com/release/51938-quiltland-sisto Regards

No thread on this? Mmmm strange, usually some of you are pretty fast on new releases from the man from Japan. If the awesome title isn't enough to get you interested, then maybe you should wrap your earholes round savage fucking beast of a tune. It's pretty, pretty good.

I'm surprised that there wasn't a topic about this already. The new Wax Stag album is (finally) about to be released. I really liked the first one (was introduced to it because of BIbio's amazing remix of "Folk Rock"), and I've been looking forward to the new one for a while now. In case you haven't heard him before, here are a couple very excellent videos of tunes from the first album:

The long awaited MS 08 is a split E.P between techno-rave unit Minimum Syndicat and The Kosmik Kommando, aka Mike Dred (Rephlex, R&S, Machine Codes), one of the true creators of acid techno, once called the Jimi Hendrix of the TB-303, and partner of Richard D. James within the legendary Universal Indicator project. No beardy hipster techno, no bullshits, just pure analog strobe-jams from the vault of rave. Don't think I have to add anything to this, except that it is available on 12" or digital. Brilliant stuff! https://minimumsyndicat.bandcamp.com/album/tesseract-ep-ms08

Album for purported release in 2007 is coming in Feb! As a big fan of Everything's Exactly The Same, I was highly anticipating Lifeshake and was disappointed when it did not appear. And even though this is not the true album but an approximation, I'm looking forward to it. I wonder what other forgotten albums are due? One of the tags on tumblr featuring this link was for Venetian Snares...
