I was actually pretty surprised how similar heliosphan live sounded to the big day out version. That was a really good soundboard at that show.

we're actually now running of out of unreleased Aphex live tracks he could drop at this point, which brings to mind the remake of Didgeridoo from the same set as Heliosphan, did he already put this up and i somehow missed it?

Am I alone in not understanding all of the Sekonda hype? I've listening to it a few times and I feel like I'm just not hearing what everyone else is. It's a good track, just nothing I'd consider one of my favorites or anything. I dunno, maybe it's just me.

Lush Acid is so good and such a tease, he could have released an entire additional EP with this sound around the same time as RDJ album. Thats the only place it 'fits' for me, but barely.

And where is the Rome 2002 track (the most amazing acid ever) i bet that track alone would get him 60.000,- + on kickstarter alone!

please release Richard d James!!

I feel like tigercubdelay is not getting enough love in these parts. That was one of the tracks EOD/Noise remastered besides Rushup Bank 12 and Synthacon 9 when they were just audience recordings (before we knew of the Tuss alias) , been waiting for it a long time. I wish it had been developed into something longer though, if it was it easily would have fit in the IDM trick-war lexicon of Gantz Graf and Kill Robok. Part of me was expecting it to land on Syro, when it didn't i was kind of surprised.

edit: is it another quadraverb track? if it is that would explain its distinctly different slightly more 'messy' sound than AE or Squarepusher's software effect equivalents

Sekonda is the absolute highlight from this batch. Total Steve Reich + AB5 feels... Couldn't ask for anything more then tracks like these. Just blown away.

That's by Squarepusher, not Aphex. Tom should upload it, yes!

When I heard the first seconds of the Cottage tracks, my brain said Analord. But JR's comments and subsequent listens got me wondering maybe Tuss.

It's mostly the bass synth that makes the Cottage tracks sound Tuss era to me.

Cottage tracks sound like pre-Syro stuff. Which would of course be Tuss/Analord era perhaps, but the composition and structuring/feel of the 'finished' tracks just screams 'Syro' outtake to me.

I thought that was never totally confirmed, but anyway Tom jenkinson should release it then, hopefully aphex inspires other artist to do this by now!

A lot of these soundcloud trax are better than a lot of aphex his mid 90s stuff. Just really like the raw and not overproduced quality of it.

Yeah I agree, it sounds like that acid line has the has the same sensibilities as Theme frm Ernest Borgnine. (and the warp 20 show appearance of course)

What about the other 303 heavy tracks from around that time that were rumoured to be by the Rave Colonel.

heres one of them:

Nope, you haven't missed it. I'd also very much like to get my mitts on that.

agree on both. (btw thx for reminding me of ae's qualities there, gantz graf is claearly teh winner here if not in releasing a shitton of amazing tracks for free on sc-war; yes ur what they call collateral damage, robsean, i love ya, but soz)

anyone else hearing cilonen percussion in there??? i know it sounds far fetched, but somehow tigercubdelay reminds me of that bd, sd, rim combo...

strangely enough sekonda sounds a bit like a better recent opn?! thoughts?

I agree, the soundcloud acid tracks seem to indicate to me that that track (the famous acid one) is outside of Richard's sensibilities, and right up Tom's (Ernest Borgnine, Psultan from Chaos AD).

That other Rome youtube track linked by the CIA above rings a bell to me, don't know if I've just heard another live bootleg.

I quite like this other Rome acid track, I think it's been linked to the Rave Colonel as well, nicely fucked up:
