The John bolton book. Spite over not getting his war ? Wherever it may have been?

probably spite about a lot of things but also probably an opportunity to make some $$$$$ and up his profile.

I do think he went in knowing how it might go and had the book in mind from the start and knew he'd be shitting on all those fools at some point.

I like that his PA horn lackey was wearing a mask (probably a hired tech guy rather than one of the Idiocracy mob).

Also, I hope everyone who shook his hand at the end gets a case of the 'vid... not bad enough to die, just bad enough to sufficiently punish their reckless stupidity.

I'm convinced this is the rise of modern day fascism... Herds of stupid (and even many non-stupid) people believing dangerous propaganda and spreading their ignorance, putting lives at risk, in effect, systematically killing people all in the name of the dear leader's maniacal vision and science-denying fury, all while blaming a single group (the left) for the world's ills.

We need to stamp this INSANITY out before these people go further, the situation we are in us fucked in every way. If Trump gets re-elected, there's no chance.

it's the misinformation for sure. the 'alternate facts' and all the crazy shit on the internet getting gobbled up. it's certainly possible that tech companies like facebook could become proactive in manipulation for their own agendas and usurp the federal government's authority.. certainly its messaging.

media has 'wagged the dog' in the past to start wars and get the feds to do its bidding w/o even knowing.. no reason that can't happen again in a bigger more effective way. seems like the chaos is already in motion.. just needs someone at the helm. if facebook decided to become a media company it could push its own narrative.  it'd be complex thing to do and i don't think zuckerberg is smart enough but who's to say they already aren't populating parts of it w/their narrative?

trump is just a symptom. he certainly dragged a lot idiots and racists out the woodwork but that's been done before.

A lot of trumps base have automatic weapons and have been primed to see the upcoming election as invalid and engineered by the deep state if he loses.

I think there’ll be violence either way

That's one of those 'fascinating' american tropes. Making money off everything - being a good person and make money off it - being a whistleblower and make money off it - find the most obscure niche and make money off it - be a professional douchebag and make money off it - an 'expert' on the most useless topic.... and make money off it.

Doesn't get much more american than this.

Saw that on IG last night. Gotta love how the guy holds the rifle like Rambo (with the stock under the armpit rather than rested against the shoulder) and the lady assumes the Karen stance, with one hand on the hip and the other hand pointing a handgun in lieu of the index finger. And their "house" looks more like a government building.

LMNOP+ community (Lifestyle of Mainstream Normal Ordinary People) attempt to take (back?) june with the make the family great again movement. they have a convoluted mission statement that includes going around and rating government officials based on whether they discriminate mainstream normal ordinary people

@timbre monke Seems a matter of time before that ends up a bloodbath.

Had some amazing times in the US. A few prize cunts like anywhere, but overall very, very welcoming. However, from someone who lived among you, your future looks bleak with brand token gestures for appearance's sake. 100,000 plus covid deaths & counting, with a surge of grief immediate friends & families. Age old civil rights compromised by systems of financial segregation & an explosion of compressed, centuries old rage. Completely fragmented benefit & healthcare systems. An education system that wastes so much talent it beggars belief. Police that the world is seeing with a mixture of horror & good ol' fascination. And it can get much worse before the systems improve. Your election could be both the making & the breaking of the chance for real change on the surface, but that's a veneer. The scar tissue of trauma in the country's past & present tightens the fabric of tension. It seems fibrous, binding, reducing agency. Who cares how many Nordstrom Racks there are within a square mile? I dunno, this joint kicked my arse.

the key to surviving it is not to overthink it too much, and of course - numb your mind daily with alcohol + THC

Profiteering and opportunism is the American way of life.

I wonder if that clip has bullets in it.

Do people really think that waving a gun around makes them safer? To me it seems that the likelihood of getting shot just increases. Like shouting "I know karate, motherfuckers!" will just eventually get your own ass kicked.

it's meant to work the same way a baby on board sticker works. let's say someone is going to shoot you, then they see you waving a gun, they now have to consider the implications of their actions. baby on board stickers deterred many people that were prone into causing car accidents when they realized there were babies in those vehicles and instead targeted cars that had no infants.

Yeah, lol.

But seriously if you're about to shoot up some fuckers, like there's a group of 10  and two are visibly carrying are you going to start with the unarmed or eliminate the threats first?

Or if you're going to rob someone and you know they have a gun. Do you not shoot first just to be safe? If you think they don't have a gun then you might just get away with a bit of threats of violence and some mild assault instead of committing a murder.

I mean if you are ready to use a lethal force people tend to respond in kind.
