never purchased a discography before but am tempted - but my question is if i do so does it make my new purchases feed completely insane and add every release? i am assuming it does, as what else would it possibly do. but i don't want this. who has bought a discography?

Hey WATMM ! I’m surprised Smerz has no occurrences here. they’re from Norway and have done a EP and a LP on XL RECORDS. wicked sound, sickk beats, and kind of r’nb vocals. https//smerzforyou.bandcamp.com/music Long Live Smerz ! ❤️?

Bought it about 8 years ago, can’t remember where. There is nothing on the spine or marked on the vinyl. Thanks.

No love for Cabaret Voltaire?!? 1 2

Hey. Just watched through my old CDs, and yeah. Before and while the WARP records big bang started, I listened a lot to Cabaret Voltaire. You probably know Richard H. Kirk from Sweet Exorcist. SE - similar style (darkish), but more minimal. Still loving CV! I searched watmm for "cabaret voltaire" - 0 entries. WTF?! Now playing the plasticity album. My favourites are the first ("Low Cool") and last track: Love many tracks of them. Special love for the Body and Soul album. There's also some stuff I didn't like. Cannot say which, but it was, that they often only start ideas, start melodies, but do not finish them, not leading to a climax.

I feel like an idiot but I can't get the Bandcamp Player Embed to work. Basically I go to the bandcamp track/album, go to "embed", choose layout, choose "wordpress" (not html), and copy and paste the shortcode into the "Bandcamp Player Embed." However, it always comes up with a 400 error code, as seen below. (Or maybe you don't see it!) What am I doing wrong?

I haven't seen his name come up here so I though I figured I'd start a topic. One of the earliest composers I'm aware of to really embrace digital technology. I feel like he's a bit of a missing link between the old school stockhousen/pierre schaeffer/parmegiani and modern sound artists like richard device etc. I piced up Pacific Tubular Waves on a lark a while back and was blown away by it.

Just curious if any of u had any recommendations for a playlist when the snow is out, or if it’s cold. I’ve had one I’ve been adding shit to for years, it’s a lot of stuff like Vincent Gallo- When, Autechre- Eutow, John Coltrane, vangelis- Antarctica, mu-ziq- catkin and teasel, the instrumental ambient skinny puppy stuff, frank zappa’s more chill stuff (like burnt weeny sandwich) and Squarepusher iambic 5 poetry. It’s obviously way more expansive than that, but that’s a good rundown of the basics of what I guess I consider music for winter. Post whatever u think would fit!

The guy's name is basically synonymous with reggae bass. His loss is as monumental as the bassweight he left behind.

If you can be arsed, list tracks that you never tire of. They may not be your favourite tracks but they're tracks that remind you of someone, somewhere or something and give you an overload of emotion, whether good or bad. Here are mine in no particular order: Aphex Twin - Xtal Part Time - I Wanna Take You Out Yves Tumor - The Feeling When You Walk Away Talk Talk - New Grass Bark Psychosis - Absent Friend Chromatics - Cherry Ariel Pink - Another Weekend Sun Araw - Deep Cover Slowdive - Blue Skied An' Clear μ-Ziq - XT Saint Pepsi - Private Caller Neon Indian - Era Extrana There are m…

So Tresor is releasing a boxset to celebrate 30 years of banging tunes (a touch on the expensive side). On that is a beautiful Donato Dozzy track: I'm very tempted to auction off a kidney and put in a pre-order.

Sonic Youth 1 2 3

Sonic Youth was formed in 1981. A great band that had it's own place in the No-Wave and Noise Rock scene along with band like Swans. Their debut album was released in 1983, named "Confusion Is Sex". Their fifth album "Daydream Nation" is considered to be their magnum opus. They're known for their weird tunings and lot's of guitar simulated noise, example: song "The Diamond Sea" is almost 20 minutes long and the last 15 minutes is just droning guitar effects and noise. Their most experimental album was probably ''EVOL'' from 1986 that had great songs such as: Tom Violence, Star Power, Shadow Of A Doubt.. Great band, you should check out. Really hard to get into, but whe…

I'm curious what folks here do with their mp3/flac collections. I got on the Spotify train for a long time, but I've noticed as a techno fan that lots of records just disappear (especially 12 inches) and then there's just a lot that just isn't on Spotify and probably never will be (Rephlex, Old Skam, etc etc). Do any of you guys use cloud services for storage and playback? What does your set up look like these days for portable listening? I have an iPhone and primarily use a Mac, if that matters.

Outside of the usual suspects (Autechre, Boards, Aphex, etc), which albums/eps/singles/12 inches do you most keenly miss when you're on the popular streaming platforms? Which mp3s/flacs do you find yourself reaching for the most?

Maurice Jarre - Enemy Mine OST (1985) The keyboard comes in at around 14:53. Probably one for vintage synth fans.
