Japan's @DJ Dooo creates realistic covers for electronic equipment. His latest bit of nightmare fuel is this realistic human mouth coin purse: Frankly surprised it wasn't a female mouth... Japan and all that.

Some of you may recall we had a Member Map (allowed you to put a pin on a map where you are located in the big wide world), and it's a feature now available on the new forum software again. Fun? Creepy? I can see from a privacy perspective one might not want to mark exactly where you live, but I can see the social benefits "oh, there's someone else in my town who likes electronic music too?". Let's hear what you all think.

So as some of you may recall, we lost our dedicated chatroom, CHATMM due to the forum provider getting out of the dedicated chatroom providing service. There were some potential replacements, but all were costly and didn't offer the same level of integration that we had with CHATMM. So, as a stopgap solution, a suggestion was made to use Discord as a replacement. Discord has been fine, and recently with the forum upgrade, I have been able to leverage addons for the forum to more tightly integrate it into the forums (new topics get a link in the Discord, for example). It still doesn't 'feel' the same though, and it's still very disconnected from the site. Th…

I'll start out with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Memories: I loved this show. The turtles were total badasses but were also really cool. They fought really sweet enemies, like Krang, who was a brain in the stomach of a huge robot. They had awesome weapons, they loved pizza, I loved pizza. It was perfect. Oh, and Shredder was bad ass! The movie was also really sweet, and Shredder got crushed in a garbage truck! Brutal! YEAH! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=avHVOHsN3T0 Reality: Wow... I didn't even remember that high pitched chip munk voices were singing along during the chorus - man, this sounds horrible. And the lyrics: Splinter taught them to be ninja tee…

Anybody else here tried using Gnome 3? I started using it and it looks pretty and nice but it seems pretty unstable on my system. I'm trying out kde(which I haven't tried in years and never to any extent) just to see what has happened to it since early versions of kde 3. I'm just trying to find something nice that will be inviting to family that might try to use my computer when it is booted into arch and they click on the guest account. I also hate how gnome has devolved the configurability of their desktop environment and login manager(this is what I had to do to set the wallpaper in GDM 3 https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/GNOME_3#GDM_Customization ). Gnome 2 was the…

I've silently debated this topic a lot the past few years. Do you keep around shitty friends just to have friends? Should you drop them out of your life? If you drop them all out you will end up with nobody. Are unreliable friends better than no friends at all? Discuss.

The forum will be going down soon, possibly for a couple days. Here's why: In order to keep the forum up and running for years to come, we need to do some future-proofing. That means upgrading from PHP5 to PHP7. While this would normally only take about an hour, we have to update the forum software as well (the current version isn't compatible with PHP5). The forum update is going to be handled by a third party (Invision, the company that makes the software). Unfortunately, we don't know how long it will take them to complete their side of the project, so we'll be offline in the meantime. Fortunately, there are some things you can do instead of WATMM: - make m…

For the next issue of my zine, I want to include some more poetry (it seemed to go down well last time I did this) and I thought it might be fun to ask the population of WATMM to help out. So... If you fancy a chance of getting some poetry printed, please respond to this thread with your entry (or PM me if you prefer / wish to remain anon). By entering you give me the right to republish it, yada yada.... Rough theme; SYNTHESIS (interpret as you see fit) No actual prizes other than getting written into my zine. Please include a handle / artist name and poem title if you want credit, otherwise anon. Probably got 2 weeks max on this so don't hang about.…

So I'm the asshole that booked a trip to Tokyo a few months before all this N. Korean escalation. If it's still standing I'll be there in November. Can anyone here recommend things to do in the area? Just know that I'm a very cheap man and the thrills don't necessarily have to be legal.

All, A new feature on the forum is Mentions, where you can er, mention someone in posts by typing the @ symbol and then a user's name and then hitting tab or clicking the name that comes up - for example, @chaosmachine. This will let the user know they've been mentioned in a post. Thing is, right now it appears only Mods and Admins can use the feature, and the vendor is working with us to try and find out why nobody else can seem to do so. So, here's what I'd like you all to do in this thread: Reply to this thread, and try using a Mention using the steps above. If you cannot use it (you get an error - commonly folks see "INVALID_URL" in the lower le…

I made a song and when I play it with Groove it shows an album that exists? What does this mean? It is my track that is played but it shows an album from 2008? I uploaded a screenshot so you can see. What can I do about this?

What Kind of genre did you start with when you started making songs and do you still make the same genre or have you gone to something else? I do not even know what kind of genre I make, some call it EDM others IDM. I must admit that I do not really am up to date with todays genres. When I listen music its mostly from the 60-80's.
