I really love this track. I really love Elseq. First sounds of the track could be annoying to someone, as the marked snare/SBAM on quite every third quarter, but pendulu hv moda designs very unique scenarios. All the first half of the track makes me think about some sort of digital-natural imaginary. But from 7.08 everything changes and a evolving being starts growing, always moving, not sure if he has biomechanical features or if he's more abstract... The only sure thing is that from 6.58 starts trying to express itself, and the disappearance of the other main sounds makes me imaginate now a desert-ish landscape. Final drone marks the end of the epiphany. …

I like to trip on mushrooms like 2-3 times a year, cause it's fun but mostly because it makes good music so intense. With autechre, its just one step beyond and a different experience, damn! A toughnut album like move of ten, you instantly get what these guys are making the trip is so heavy but controlled, they realy want you to trip balls, it's just amazing Even when the shrooms are working out and i put AE on again i get smacked right back in the zone also the next day you will remember all the music better then ever before, can save you years of time waiting on a record to unveil its power (in my case sometimes) so has anyone else had any experience with shroom…

This is consistantly in my top 3 albums autechre has produced. Silverside, Slip, Piezo, Further, and Teartear are absolute classics and they never get old for me. The first 3 and last 3 tracks are damn perfect in succession. Anyone else feel this way?

i've been thinking about this for a while. during the AAA, Sean revealed the bombshell that the majority of their tracks are solo tracks - easily one of the most surprising things to come out of that thread. so which tracks do you think are collabs, and which are solos? time for a whole load of speculation. obviously there's no way of knowing whether it's rob or sean who composed a solo track, so i'll mark these as solo and B+B. Garbagemx36 - this is a very sophisticated track with a lot of different elements playing off each other - but it all blends together so seamlessly. i think it may be stitched together from separate solo tracks that worked really w…

Hello! I have going thru the whole AAA-thred but cant find this quote by Sean or was it just a dream? The subject was listen to music high on acid/shrooms and Sean mentioned some tracks he really enjoyed while tripping. Anyone remember the track/tracks? Or the quote? Cheers

Something about colder weather, moody skies with faint diffuse sunlight, and shorter days in inherenty condusive to Autechre listening. It's probably in my top three reasons to look forward to winter along with Christmas and Thanksgiving. This is a thread about ideal Autechre tracks for winter listening. I realize that in general Autechre is wintry music and its probably easier to come up with summer Autechre. For me I have noted is that while I tend to prefer newer crazy Autechre most of the year and often fret that pre-Chiastic Slide stuff might sound repetitive and boring, I go into a heavy Tri Repetae era kick as soon as Daylight Savings Time is over. Something a…

Ok, sorry for the delay but at first i wrote an entire review about a legowelt album before i realized it wasn't even autechre at all. sean had to pm me and point this out. (i submit all my reviews to him before i post them so he can make any suggestions. actually, he basically wrote the entire oversteps review since i was in a bad mood that day.) first track starts off sweet, it's like stockhausen for 4 seconds. then my custom gameboy ringtone kicks in. can't believe ae made gameboy songs! wait, that's actually the album. lush. but then this just noodles with half-finished basslines and beep bops and stuff that i don't care about. i fucking hate electronica. …

I think this is my favorite Autechre album. It's a strange feeling, because this was the first AE record I heard. I was like 10 years old and I listened to "Dael" after downloading it and "Clipper" on Napster. I didn't like it at the time [i would have preferred to listen to the Power Pill remix over and over. and the Mortal Kombat theme]. A few years later, as a teen, I discovered Confield. And I think that was when I REALLY started to obsess over this group. All along I would return to Tri Repetae, but I found it lacking and dull in comparison with most of their other work. I mean, I liked it - I liked ALL Autechre to some degree. But it wasn't as fun to listen …

Knowing full well that music in general is subjective when it comes to personal likes and dislikes, I just want to share my love for what I feel is Autechre's most emotional work to date. Envane, moreso than any other album, takes me back in time. In this case- I was going through a period of learning some bigtime life lessons and happened to be giving it some really heavy listening, which might be why it pulls on my emotional strings so hard. By no means am I implying that one needs to experience anything in particular to enjoy Envane, but no other album retains this much feeling and nostalgia for me. Not to mention that this EP is rock solid and I never get sick of …

I'm just listening to this for the first time in like ONE WEEK and it just keeps growing on me. I mean, I loved it the first time, but now after about 100 more relistens I'm actually quite disturbed by my attachment to it. The first three tracks and last three especially. The only track I don't think is absolutely amazing is Hub. I seriously think this is their best album (imo, obv) and probably most influential - as soon as I listen to Matmos or any of the other decent electronic music contemporaries, I think CHIASTIC SLIDE straight away. Does anyone else love this album more than is probably healthy?

I have no idea why. But the synths just sounded so much more melodic, and complex. It's sounded a whole lot less like just a cacophony of sound to me. It's got the super high energy that I wish was conveyed in more Autechre songs.

Did the BolaMan had a bigger role than just the Gescom for early AE-Incunabula LegoFeet days??? Listen to those pad layers with reverbs and shit.. I think he did more than we know about! Thats why sensitive listeners who can only listen to Early AE likes that sound so much - Its Bola!

holy shit have we made it this far already? I'm super excited about this week because there have been times I have thoroughly enjoyed Confield, but I never tend to put it on when I want to hear some Ae, so hopefully this week will change that. Go!

Surprised I haven't seen this posted here. Supposedly the Spotify artwork for LP5 has been updated, and here is an up close picture of the front sticker. Wonder if this bodes well for Draft, Confield, Untilted...

Been listening to all the Quaristice-era tracks a lot over the past few weeks, and I finally feel like I've dedicated a proper amount of time to really analyze all of the different versions of Perlence. It really is fascinating to find all the little differences - we've never had a single set of ideas explored as thoroughly in any of their music before, or since (Though 90101 comes close). At any rate, after having compared them all for a while I think I've come up with a fairly definitive playlist order for listening to them. Kind of begins from the basic, superficial level of the tracks and slowly descends deeper into the individual sounds. Anyway, the way I've been lis…

It is! I have red Reddit-comments like: "Autechre played white noise with feedback for 45 minutes, most horrible act I ever seen." I don't take this guy for his word but I understand if he or she was completely lost. I have several discussions with normal music lovers and the ALWAYS say the same: Incunabula, Amber and Tri Rep is good but they don't get their new style at all. "They do too much programmed music with too much digital cold sounds and no warm shredding with beats." say one person I talk with about Autechres work. Is it too complex sometimes? Should they make more "easy listen" music?
