  • Rubin Farr changed the title to Burial - Dreamfear (9th February)

so i still stand by this assessment

but these tracks are actually pretty damned good. interesting and not too much stupid Burial stop start shit, felt pretty reasonable/meaningful when done, and the variety within each track despite both being uptempo beats & dance type vibes was all a plus. might be the first Burial i actually purchase (assuming they release digitals, i have no desire to buy vinyl)

Just the burial I was hoping for tbh! Though I hope it's not quite as lofi as the rip suggests but hard to tell with Burial!

Couldn't help but listen but might wait till its actually released to listen to it again in full quality.

Gotta say although the promo is cool I would have preferred just waking up one day to it being out properly, I'm to old for this hype train shit.

The leak sound cool and the tracks are long! It's a 26 minute release even if there are only two tracks.

If id have to leave some commentary I'd say that the fact that he keeps reusing the same samples is starting to sound lazy. He uses so many of the same vocal samples and dreamfear literally plays the Rival Dealer drums at some point.

And yet I do think it still sounds cool, they should just release it at this point. Did they really think the white labels wouldn't leak??

i like the sound of the leaks. would be nice to have digitals. is that never the plan w/his stuff these days? just limited vinyl drops? haven't followed him in a minute.. i think rough sleeper and something else were last things i got digitals of.

P much everything he releases he puts out on vinyl and digital. He only publishes singles these day pretty much. We get 2 tracks nearly every year except for 2022 where he released Antidawn which is an ambient EP which saw a CD release as well

Lyrics leaked too:

In a world where shadows weave,
Lies a boy, in dreamfear cleave.
Underneath the starlit cove,
Whispers soft, "sent from above."

Through the night, his heart does roam,
In moonlit paths, where spirits comb.
Burial grounds, silent, still,
Echoes of a timeless thrill.

Eyes aglow with unseen light,
Chasing dreams through endless night.
In every star, his hopes engraved,
By celestial hands, his soul is saved.

In the quiet of the eve,
He finds the strength to believe.
A boy, a dream, in night's embrace,
Sent from above, to grace this space.

Been said before, but Burial is at his best channeling early garage / dubstep vibes.

Burial doing early 90s hardcore always tips the naffness way too far IMO.
