Synth work on this is a real source of inspiration for me atm, it sounds so clean yet analog at the same time. Really nice balance. Stumbled across this video recently...

Been listening to some of these mixes by the cheekily named "Royal Subsonic Consortium" on Mixcloud for a couple of years now - I have some reason to believe that these mixes are done by Rephlex (or associated) artists. For example, the Lardossen Commando mixes sound mysteriously identical to DJ Stingray 313's playlists... Adamovich's mixes sound exactly like Aphex Twin himself... The titles of the mixes, as well as the individual tracks in the mixes are chock-full of that dark playful humor as well... Has anyone else ever listened to these mixes before? Does anyone have any clue to who this collective is? Are they simply DJ copycats who are copying the styles/rec…

What drum samples or drum machines were used? How much of it was ITB? What software was used?

I joined this forum 10 years ago almost entirely based off the fact that I had become obsessed with RDJ's output and wanted to know more. Ironically 2008 was the year he was the most quiet, save for live gigs, so the past decade has been a whirlwhind of scraping every single thing he did in the past to this exciting barrage of new / unreleased music that came out. Caustic Window. Soundcloud Dumps. Syro. I saw him live at Day For Night. Nonetheless he remains a bit of an enigma and mystery in the best way possible and once facet of this is speculating over his influences via sampling and crate-digging. The soundcloud dump and the Chappel Library Music reveal brought a …

Not sure if anyone linked this already? Dave Noyze documents a recent trip to the UK, which included a brief visit to see Rich at Aphex Towers: http://noyzelab.blogspot.co.uk/2018/04/regional-arts-fellowship-field-report-4.html

Has anyone posted this? Tom Middleton shared a photo on Instagram of one of his collection of old cassettes from Richard. Couple of interesting nuggets there... “?Found this 1989? tape Richard @instaphex handmade/handwrote for me, 2nd tape of 10+(?!) in my AFX tape archives. Predating Analogue Bubblebath on Mighty Force Records, Surfing On Sinewaves on @warprecords, Didgeridoo on @randsrecords and SAW1 on @apollorecords Some interesting tracks and versions I don’t remember being released? ...what do you make of those track id’s? Wonder what the insurance value on this would be?!? Starts with one of my all time favourites #Xtal!”

... from a composition perspective? Tracks like Minipops, Xmas, the Circlonts and U473t are constantly changing and morphing, not only in a timbral/textural way but also in his melodies. He used repetition a lot less than previous albums and it seems like Syro might actually contain his best melodies and ideas/variety/transitions? Anyway, seems like there was a lot of 'growth' from him musically in this album, or am I just talking shit?

I've been getting into 90s jungle a l lot lately and I feel like I'm noticing a lot more influences on what inspired richard's take on jungle. Obviously drukqs is jungle inspired in a lot of ways and I find tons of drum programming things that are reminding me of bits and pieces of other One tune I feel really embodies this, especially the sound of 54 cymru beats is the 1993 hit tune by hyper on experience, "lord of the null lines" (and the foul play remix). Original has even more meandering/tapestop/random and layers fading in. Like a bunch of cool sounding samples being thrown together at a jungle tempo w/ breaks. Original: foul play remix: …

Hi, I was wondering if anyone here would have the Druqs sticker saying "Come on you cunt, let's have some Aphex acid " For a little project of mine I want to make a t-shirt. But sadly I could only find it in rather low quality online. Maybe we could make some kind of deal if you could scan it for me in hi-res. Thanks / Bob Please move the topic if it's not in the right place, my apologies in advance if this is the case.

I just had a second thought about that here is more info about the robot: http://logosfoundati...um_gwr/HAT.html The topic where it was mentioned did not really go anywhere and it was not used in any release before. So whats up with that? Is he spoiling us for his next release where we will have a full drill n bass release but with this beast drumming or whats the purpose of this? I don't think the information about it leaked randomly. So what else do we have? This picture of him standing in front of new gear also not used yet: plus him telling in interviews he has several release ready. In addition he is willing to work together with radiohead …
