no, please tell us more about Panasonic NB-G110P, especially how it enriches your life. I don’t have a toaster oven and thus do not enjoy toasted bread. I have an Aeropress coffee making device, yes, yum, it makes coffee I bought into it via American twitter tweet tweep people.

Do we have one of these? High thoughts thread What if there is some parameter of society that is overlooked that we should be modifying more. For instance we're focusing a lot of resources into war, this is obviously not the best choice above enhanced diplomacy really. And we're no doubt focusing on all kinds of other things. What if there is some overlooked factor, like the number of linguists who can translate between languages, to help with information dissemination between cultures, that is holding humanity back the most? Maybe there are just concepts not understood in some languages that are understood in others, and we need more translators to help…

a friend of mine who is an established player in the Sydney hiphop/dj/producer scene has approached me with an offer to enter into a partnership. this basically involves me investing an upfront amount that allows him to get some space away from just working (dj gigs, touring, etc) and focus just on studio time and making music. this is a new project of his under a new alias with a new direction. the idea is to strike it bigger than his past work, which while not insubstantial, isn't super big either. I get my initial investment back plus 20% of everything that's made. this guy is a friend. I met him at my old local when he was DJing there, I've hung out with him, been…

Identify the airplane
by Guest- 8 replies

hello. An hour ago a airplane flew overhead, I was on the bike and couldn’t snap a pic before it was gone again. I want to know what airplane it was. It had a distinct feature - something like mini wings at the nose, little bit like a hammerhead shark. Made a sketch. Here is the sketch: I don’t remember if the engines were on the wing or on the main body. The wings were straight, and kinda distinctly at the rear. Probably has to do with the nose wings. halp, pls

i watched almost all 5 hours and noticed a couple of things: 1. zuckerberg was had obviously gone through this with his legal team to the point where he came off a little contrived eg. almost 60% of the first 3 hours had him going "i'll have to get my team to follow up with you" and "thank you senator and that's a very important question and i'll have to get back to you on that" 2. not sure if this was a legality thing, but it made me chuckle that he didn't know how soon facebook takes to delete user data if they delete their account. i know it's something like 20-30 days for that data being purged from the servers, so i'm guessing during the breaks there were te…

i was at the bookstore the other day and saw that this guy has written something called "12 rules for life: an antidote to chaos" and it's very serious looking and has a statement on the back from the new republic talking about what a great thinker he is. i remember seeing him on some joe rogan thing like a year ago and he seemed like kind of a self serious ass who had chosen trans pronouns as his hill to die on. now i guess he's like david foster wallace for the alt-right? am i wrong here? i remember limpyloo kept quoting him in that psychology thread so i'm assuming he's intellectually bankrupt. is this guy going to legitimize alt-right philosophy?

regardless of mental illness of the youtube commenter I think also something was lost in translation and the guy is convinced Seal is an actual Navy Seal, and then further reasoning I think he thinks world famous musician Seal, his music career is some kind of cover and he is the black version of Jason Bourne. Only Seal can be relied on to use krav maga skillz and shaky cam and do a solo mission breaking into Castle Wolfenstein where Merkel resides on a throne of used chalupa wrappers and do Matrix bullet-time and end dis shit

I’m visiting Europe for the first time next week and I’m looking for suggestions from you international folks. I’ll be there for 10 days starting in Amsterdam and ending up in Berlin. I’m probably not going much further south than Cologne so I’m mostly looking for things to do in Northern Germany, particularly good hiking trails, music venues, castles, and other scenic shit.

Folding@Home 1 2

anyone else running this? any of you geeks with custom-built computers and powerful GPUs? stocKo and I have started the WATMM team and we've just racked up our first points. for those who don't know, Folding@Home is a distributed computing system that uses your computer's idle cycles (or, in the case of some people with dedicated folding machines, 100% processing power) to simulate protein "folding" i.e. modeling molecular dynamics with the aim of aiding medical research into diseases and new drugs to treat them. it's a noble cause with tangible results and also quite addictive for computer geeks who are into tweaking their hardware, because of the points system. …
