I fucking loved it Beautiful underwater stuff, a lot of actually quite complicated character relationships being set up, and a humdinger of an action set piece in the final hour. And its actually about something important. I can easily see how they can make three more of these. And Cameron has hinted its going to go in unexpected directions later. People who didnt like it, please come to this thread and then we can get all tribal about it ?

Ok, I know all of you Brits have already seen all or more of the 3rd season by now... ... but, holy shit. This show is so good. I was hooked from the start. At time, my confidence has wavered, but the show always wins me back. If you hate the show or want to troll and talk shit, take it someplace else. There's nothin but love for the goods in here. Mad respect. Haters gonna hate.

When did it start? I dont ever remember retro being in the mind in the 90's or the 80's when I was a kid. It was always forward thinking. At some point, Youth could only look to the past to be cool. It's made ersatz art. I sound like a grumpy old man. Im not saying there isn't good shit. I just dont ever remember the thought of a retro mind set and maybe the world was better for it. Decades all look the same now.. It all melts into the next.

What's up everyone! Haven't been here in a minute. The last 2 years was pretty rough with getting employment in order and moving. My son competed in World Skate Games in Buenos Aires Argentina about 2 months ago. He competed in the Jr. Pro Street Scooter division and he brought home the gold against other competitors from around the world! Excited to see what the future holds! https://www.instagram.com/p/Cjq8dQKp-pl/

Hey guys. I don't remember the last time I've posted here. I have drifted away from this place. Nothing against it. Just me growing old I guess. Some of you may remember me. I've been on watmm since its inception. back in the joyrex.com days. I'm just chiming in to let you guys know that I've been diagnosed with Kidney Cancer back in October 2019. I've been fighting with some advancements and set backs along the way. I was on immunotherpy from December to February. I had a reaction to the treatment that almost made me lose kidney function. So they took me off immunotherapy and put me on other medications to normalize my kidneys. Right now, my kidneys are functioning …

I watched LOTR the whole thing as they came out, didn't get it an didn't like it. But we have started watching it again this past week. Just finished watching part 1 and would like some uber geeks to explain a few bits to me. Why does the ring not effect Billbo or Frodo the same as other people? Are elves like the master race? Why has man become so lowly? What was the deal with the white lady in the forest? TIA!

New Luddism 1 2 3 4 6

In order for the individual mind to survive the coming decades, it will be necessary to dis-integrate oneself from technology. You're either hurdling towards the hive mind, or retreating into the forests. I am serious about this. I think we will see a growing movement of anti-digital, anti-content types. New luddism, post internet, whatever you want to call it. Are you pro hive or pro forest?

This is a contentious issue these days. Or rather I wish it was more contentious than it actually is. Currently if a respected artist (of whatever media) does a bad thing, sexual or otherwise, they are completely written off and ostracized from society. Persona non grata. More importantly people call for every thing they've ever done, made, and contributed to society to be written off, and categorically so. It's now bad music. unfunny comedy and terrible movies. creepy, disturbing writing. this instant invalidation of art after any sort of societal transgression seems wrong. This does not mean that a celebrated artist should not suffer consequences for their infractio…

Librarization of everything. Large buildings where people can work on anything they want in groups or alone by free access to any tool or equipment needed for any form of work. Anything one could need. A mall where everything is free but communal. Walkable and integrated with natural outside surroundings. Efficient conveyor belt based automatically routed transportation of objects between any two points. Spontaneous supply chain generation according to communal needs, as indicated by the number of people who are doing a particular type of work with a particular conveyor belt routing. The most important centerpiece of every city. Increased in complexity and breadth…

So as many of you long-time members recall, we had a chat module on the site we called CHATMM that was built into the forums. It was heavily used until the forum software vendor retired it, and for a long time there wasn't any decent replacements. When Houston Day for Night happened, we started using Discord to keep in touch at the festival and later we implemented a WATMM Discord that really didn't take off as the integration with the forum wasn't good, and was problematic in validating users, etc. Once we upgraded the forum software, third-party vendors offered integrated chatroom addons which we have now, and the developer has steadily been improving things t…

I'll start with this, a portable washing machine: http://amzn.com/B00AW04ZMM So cool. I didn't know that existed. Sounds like a good way to save money on laundromat costs without having to resort to washing your clothes in the tub. Has anyone ever owned one of these?

i've just realised that for ages - and idk when it started - every time i scroll down and read a youtube comments section, everyone is positive, giving praise, being supportive and at least 90% of them have something meaningful to say. now that is scientifically impossible. you all remember the arguments and degenerate opinions of classic youtube - humanity hasn't changed and this can only be the result of mind-bending AI fuckery. is it possible that these positive comments are all just auto-generated? google can do that now right? tell me if you're seeing the same thing as me because i am panicking. if i discover today that everyone on the planet had figur…
